WORCESTER - Jumbo senior Dan Moll (Newton,
MA) shot a 78 to tie for eighth out of 65 golfers at the Bison
Invitational hosted by Nichols College at the par-72, 6,483-yard
Green Hill Golf Course Sunday afternoon. The Tufts team finished
11th with a 330 combined total that was just six strokes out of
fifth place at the tightly contested tournament.
Moll's score included a 37 on the back nine. The Jumbos also had
an 83 from senior Cal Shapiro (Mamaroneck, NY), an 84 from freshman
Sebastian
Vik (Oslo, Norway), and 85's from senior Luke
Heffernan (Arlington, MA) and sophomore Mike
McCarthy (Winchester, MA).
Worcester State University combined for a team 308 to win the
Eighth Annual Bison Invitational. Lancers' senior Bob Bruso shot a
73 to become the first repeat medalist in the history of the event
after winning the Bison Invitational in 2009.
Tufts completes their fall schedule next weekend (Oct. 16-17) at
the New England Championships
