EJ Testa had a strong meet for the Jumbos with two individual top 5 finishes.

CAMBRIDGE - The Tufts men's swimming and diving team had a very successful showing at this weekend's MIT invitational, placing third behind national powerhouses MIT and NYU.
Junior EJ Testa (Cheshire, CT) had the strongest performance for the Jumbos. Testa finished third in the 100 backstroke, fourth in the 100 butterfly and third as part of the 200 medley relay. On the relay, Testa teamed up with senior quad captain Mike Del Moro (Pequannock, NJ), senior quad captain Gordy Jenkins (Kansas City, MO) and junior Owen Rood (Branford, CT) for a time of 1:36.72.
Jenkins and Rood both had good swims in the 50 freestyle, finishing fifth and sixth respectively in times of 21.79 and 21.81, respectively. They also teamed up with seniors David Meyer (Clarendon Hills, IL) and Andrew Altman (New Fairfield, CT) in the opening event of the meet - the 200 freestyle relay - to finish third in a time of 1:26.08. Jenkins also finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke.
Senior quad captain Joe Lessard (Framingham, MA) had a solid swim in the 500 freestyle finishing eighth in a time of 4:57.38. He also finished third in the mile with a time of 17:12.31.
Altman and Del Moro finished seventh and eighth in the 200 backstroke while freshman Andrew Berman (Miami, FL) finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke. Brian Marko (Barrington, IL) finished seventh in the 200 fly to finish a strong meet.
The 400 freestyle relay, the last event of the night, was the best for the team as Altman, Jenkins, Meyer, and Rood finished second in a time of 3:13.54.
In the diving portion of the meet, senior Trevor Stack (Northbrook, IL) finished second in the three-meter and first in the one-meter diving events.
The Jumbos will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida over winter break for two weeks of Christmas training before returning for a meet at NESCAC rival Williams with Wesleyan on January 15.
