Tri-captain Jen Iassogna was one of eight Jumbos celebrating Seniors Day

MEDFORD - The Tufts women's swimming and diving team dominated their final dual meet of the season at home against Wheaton College on Saturday. The team's seniors were recognized, including Megan Kono (LaGrange, IL) who won three freestyle events to lead Tufts' 175-109 win.
Kono won the 1,000 in just off a pool record time of 10:32.80, then stepped right back up and won the 200 in her best time of the year (1:57.62). She later made it a trifecta by winning the 500 in a 5:10.62 time.
Wins were all over the place for the Jumbos. First year Andrea Coniglia (Paramus, NJ) was first to the wall in both backstrokes, winning the 50 in 29.26 seconds and the 100 in 1:02.78. First years Jenny Hu (Oakland, CA) and Mia Greenwald (Park City, UT) combined for four victories with two apiece. Hu was fastest in the breaststrokes, swimming the 50 in 31.13 seconds and the 100 in 1:08.03. Greenwald did the same in the butterfly's, recording winning times of 26.62 in the 50 and 58.17 in the 100.
Greenwald would anchor the 200 freestyle relay to a best time of 1:43.10 to end the meet. She was joined by junior Saheela Mehrotra (Taipei, Taiwan), first year Taylor Lentz (Edina, MN) and sophomore Lizz Grainger (Nashville, TN).
Junior Courtney Adams (Lake Forest, IL) raced to a 100 freestyle victory in a 55.17 time. She was also the anchor for the meet-opening 400 medley relay that posted a 4:08.38 for first place. First year Jen Konick (Salem, OR) led off, Hu, followed by Hu and Greenwald.
In the diving events, Jumbo first year Sami Bloom (Wilton, CT) had the best scores with 227.25 off the one-meter board and 239.85 in three-meter.
The Jumbos swim at Wheaton's invitational next weekend (Friday and Saturday) before the start of the championship season.
