BOSTON - The 23rd ranked Tufts women's squash team shut out #29 Northeastern University, 9-0, on Thursday night. The win, the team's second in their last three matches, improved the Jumbos to 7-12 overall.
Tufts won eight out of the nine matches in straight games. Sophomore Risa Meyers (New York, NY) let up just one point while winning the #8 match. Classmates Ushashi Basu (Darien, CT) and Jessica Rubine (Cranston, RI) gave up just three points in their wins at #6 and #4, respectively.
In the only competitive match of the night, senior co-captain Valerie Koo (Hong Kong, China) won a back-and-forth contest at #2 by taking the fifth game 12-10 against Northeastern's Diana Toubman.
Tufts plays their last match of the regular season at Vassar on Sunday at noon.
