That highlighted Kono's participation in three evets at the NCAA meet which ran Wednesday through Saturday. Swimming in the 200 free preliminaries, Kono's time placed 29th in the nation. It was 0.42 faster than the previous Tufts record of 1:54.42 owned by Maureen Monahan from 1989.
