Sophomore Jenny Hu swam the second leg of the runner-up 200 medley relay

MIDDLETOWN, CT - Sophomore Mia Greenwald (Park City, UT) won the 100 and 200 butterflies while also contributing to two solid relay finishes as the Tufts women's swimming & diving team competed in a tri-meet at Wesleyan with Williams on Saturday.
The Jumbos lost to both opponents, evening their record at 3-3 for the season. They were edged by the host Cardinals 132-126, and lost 171-91 to the Ephs.
Greenwald won the 200 butterfly by a healthy margin of 3.34 seconds early in the meet with a time of 2:09.97. Her winning margin in the 100 was much tighter, as her 58.19 touch was two-tenths of a second ahead of Williams' Carolyn Geller.
Tufts had started the meet with a runner-up placement in the 200 medley relay. The time of 1:51.40 was a combination of junior KJ Kroetch (Lafayette, CA), sophomore Jenny Hu (Oakland, CA), Greenwald and first-year Samantha Sliwinski (Weymouth, MA).
Sliwinski and senior co-captain Courtney Adams (Lake Forest, IL) recorded a pair of individual seconds for the Jumbos. Sliwinski's 1:02.02 was second in the 100 backstroke, while Adams powered her way to a 25.63 in the 50 freestyle.
Hu delivered a third-place time of 1:09.94 in the 100 breaststroke. First-year Amanda Wachenfeld (Basking Ridge, NJ) was third in the race to the wall for the 500 freestyle (5:22.87).
Tufts wrapped up the meet with a third-place in the 400 freestyle relay. The foursome of Adams, Greenwald, senior Paulina Ziolek (Londonderry, NH) and first-year Andrea Coniglio (Paramus, NJ) put down a 3:43.49 time.
The Jumbos will host their final home meet of the season next Saturday against MIT. It's the squad's senior recognition meet.
