Jenny Hu Wins Three Events, but Women's Swimming & Diving Loses to Keene

MEDFORD - Senior Jenny Hu won three races, but the Tufts women's swimming & diving team lost its home opener at Hamilton Pool to Keene State by a 163-131 score.

Hu was first in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:07.75 finish. Her second win came in the 200 breaststroke, where her time was 2:28.01. She recorded the triple by touching first in the 200 individual medley at 2:13.91.

The Jumbos went 1-2 in both diving events. First-year Kylie Reiman scored 208.40 in one-meter to edge teammate Sami Bloom (206.75). They changed spots in three-meter, with Bloom's 275.65 winning and Reiman's 233.75 placing second.

Sophomore Sarah Mahoney had a good day swimming the distance events. She won the 500 freestyle with a 5:22.86 time and was also the runner-up early in the meet for the 1,000 freestyle (11:01.68).

Junior Samantha Sliwinski was second in all three freestyle races. She timed 2:01.50 in the 200, 25.24 seconds in the 50 and 54.56 seconds in the 100.

Tufts, who finished with six wins and seven seconds, had first-year Cassidy Hubert as the runner-up in the 100 butterfly (1:02.58).

Head coach Nancy Bigelow's Jumbos are off until competing at Wellesley on December 4.
