Kat Pong had one of the top Jumbo finishes at the meet

MIDDLEBURY, VT - Tufts University senior Jenny Hu had a strong meet in the Middlebury College Invitational held Friday and Saturday. The meet was a non-scoring event as a tune-up for the upcoming New England Small College Athletic Conference championships February 14-16.
Hu had the highest finish for a Jumbo in an individual event as she took a third place in the 100 breaststroke covering the distance in 1:09:27, .46 seconds off the top finisher. Hu was also a member of the fourth place 200 medley relay "A" team with sophomore Kelsey McEvoy, first year Cassidy Hubert, and senior Sam Sliwinski. The quartet covered the course in 1:53.87.
The breaststroke events were the strongest in the meet for the Jumbos as Laura Ciu, a sophomore, finished two spots behind Hu in the 100 in a time of 1:10.27. In the 200 breast, Tufts saw sophomore Katharine Pong take fourth in 2:33.6. Senior Laura Burns finished one spot behind.
Sliwinski was a fifth place finisher in the 100 free in a time of 55.20, with first year Sophia Lin .2 seconds behind in 6th place.
