DARTMOUTH - The Tufts golf team is tied for 14th place among 18 teams after one day of play at the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at the par-72 Allendale Country Club.
The Jumbos' four-best scores totaled 351 strokes to tie with Worcester State. Endicott College and Salem State University are tied for first at 315 strokes.
Brendan Koh, who won medalist honors last weekend at Rhode Island College's tournament, led Tufts on Friday with an 83 (43-40). That is tied for 33rd individually.
Also scoring for the Jumbos was Owen Elliot at 46-40-86, Ben Ruskin at 48-41-89 and David Carson at 45-48-93.
Greg Martin from Husson and Ryan Butler of Rhode Island College lead the tournament after one day with two-over par 74's.
The second round starts on Saturay at 1 pm.
