MEDFORD - Freshman Zachary Wallace and junior tri-captain Michael Winget both won two events, but the Boston College men's swimming & diving team took a 204.5 to 163.5 victory over Tufts University tonight at Hamilton Pool.

Tufts had five victories overall. Wallace posted the first with a 4:15.11 time in the 400 individual medley. Winget followed two events later with a 52.86 win in the 100 backstroke. The Jumbos wouldn't win again until the 12th event, where Winget caputred the 50 backstroke in 24.25 seconds. In the latter part of the meet, junior tri-captain Cam Simko added a first in the 500 freestyle, and then Wallace doubled with his 1:59.92 for first in the 200 IM.
Simko had the first of nine runner-up showings by the Jumbos. He timed 1:45.33 in the 200 freestyle. Freshman Morgan Ciliv nothced a pair of seconds, swimming 1:00.61 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:15.87 in the 200 breaststroke. Sophomore diver Matt Rohrer scored two seconds with a 277.20 in one-meter and a 262.88 in three-meter.
Junior Anthony DeBenedetto was one of three Tufts swimmers to record an individual second and third in the meet. He was the runner-up in the 200 butterfly at 1:56 flat before placing third in the 500 freestyle (4:56.35). Sophomore Jasper Du's second came in the 50 breaststroke with a 28.24 touch and his third was a 1:00.63 right behind Ciliv in the 100 breast. Simko added a third in the 100 freestyle, reaching the wall in 49.12 seconds.
Freshman James McElduff was second in the 50 freestyle at 22.61 seconds and then helped Tufts close the meet with a 1:29.43 200 freestyle relay. He was the third leg in a relay led off by freshman Lorenzo Lau and including Simko second and freshman Panos Skoufalos as the anchor.
Wallace added to strong scoring performance with a third in the 200 backstroke (1:59.69).
Along with posting the fastest times in both relays, the Eagles received two wins apiece from Nicolas Henze (200 free, 100 free), Andrew Stranick (100 breast, 50 breast), Timothy Benage (50 fly, 100 fly) and diver Cole Malatesta, who won both events.
The Jumbos, who finished their home schedule with tonight's meet, swim at Wheaton on Saturday in a 1 pm start.
