Box Score

Recap courtesy of Endicott College

BEVERLY - Endicott keeper Caroline Armbruster posted a new career high in saves with 11 as the host Gulls and Tufts battled to a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes of play in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Chandler Quintin led Tufts offensively

With the tie, Endicott's record moves to 6-5-2 on the season while Tufts moves to 4-5-2.

The two teams would fail to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play as Tufts controlled the majority of play early. The Jumbos would out-shoot the Gulls 10-1 in the frame as Armbruster would come up big, making four saves in the opening half.

Endicott was able to make some adjustments in the second that created more offensive chances, especially late in the frame, as they were able to post four shots in the second. Tufts freshman keeper Emily Bowers recorded one save in the second to keep the Gulls off the board.

The teams advanced to overtime where the Gulls would carry over momentum from the end of the second and out-shoot Tufts 3-1, but would fail to record a tally as the match would advance to a second overtime frame. Once again, both teams would come up empty on their scoring opportunities, ending the match in a 0-0 tie.

The Jumbos held a 21-9 advantage in shots for the match including an 11-1 shots on goal advantage. Bowers' shutout, her fourth of the season. Chandler Quintin attempted five shots, four of which were on goal, to lead the Tufts attack while Allie Weiller, Jess Capone and Sarah Grubman all attempted four.

Freshman Sharlotte Pernice led the Gulls with three shots in the match while senior Emily Rodewald finished second with two, one of which was on goal. Armbruster's 11 saves helped her record her second consecutive shutout as she also was able to shutout Curry in Endicott's 2-0 win this past Saturday.

Tufts travels to Bates on Saturday for a NESCAC matchup that starts at 12:00 pm. Endicott is home again on Saturday as they play host to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Western New England at 1:00 pm.
