MIDDLEBURY, VT - Junior diver Kylie Reiman finished second in both events as the Tufts Women's Swimming & Diving team finished its regular season at the Middlebury Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Reiman earned her best scores of the season off both boards. She totaled 380.85 in one-meter and 414.10 in three-meter. She was second behind Williams College's Ari Ross in both events.
This was Tufts' last competition before the NESCAC meet coming up February 12-14 at Middlebury College. Today's unscored meet saw the Jumbos go against the host Panthers, Williams College, Division I Vermont and Springfield College.
Tufts also received a second-place finish from freshman Stephanie Miller, who powered to a 2:30.62 time in the 200 breaststroke. Miller had a busy day as she was also a part of the team's top performances in the 200 freestyle relay, the 50 freestyle, the 400 medley relay, and the 400 freestyle relay.
Freshman Madeline Lee had one of the Jumbos' better times of the weekend in the 100 butterfly with a 59.87 for sixth place. That followed classmate Sydney Nasson's 4:54.79 in the 400 individual medley. Lee would later swim third in the 200 butterfly at 2:16.39.
Junior Amanda Gottschalk timed 2:15.03 in the 200 backstroke to earn another third for the Jumbos.
Two Tufts relays placed fourth. The 800 freestyle relay group of freshman Alexandra Good, freshman Maddie Maider, Nasson and senior tri-captain Sarah Mahoney put together an 8:20.15. Gottschalk, sophomore Jess Lee, freshman Jessica Fan and Miller's 3:49.17 in the 400 freestyle relay tied Middlebury for fourth.
