Doolan Swims Honorable Mention All-American Mark in 200 Fly at NCAA Meet

GREENSBORO, NC - Posting the Tufts women's swimming team's best performance of the week thus far, freshman Colleen Doolan placed 12th in the 200 butterfly final at the NCAA Division III Championship meet on Friday night.

Doolan swam a 2:04.11 time for an honorable mention All-American honor (places ninth through 16th). The finish also earned the first points for Tufts in the women's team scoring this week.

A 2:04.98 time in Friday's preliminaries was 11th giving Doolan a spot in Friday night's consolation final. Her finals time was third among New England swimmers in the event. The honorable mention All-American accolade is the first of Doolan's career.

Tufts is 46th in the team scoring with five points entering the final day of the meet on Saturday. Doolan will swim in the 100 freestyle and junior Amanda Gottschalk is entered in the 200 breaststroke.
