STAMFORD, Conn. - Tufts women's squash senior captain Paget Stanco took the courts in the College Squash Association's Individual Championships on Friday afternoon. Stanco was playing in the B bracket of the Holleran Division, and took on Jennifer Haley.
Stanco was not able to beat Haley, falling in three games on Friday afternoon. Scores were 11-7, 11-9, 11-2. Haley is a member of the Trinity College women's squash team and played in the sixth position for the Bantams this season.
The Tufts senior captain then faced Sarah Zhang. Zhang fell in three games in the opening round of play as well. Zhang and Stanco have faced off twice before this season with Zhang winning both times. Zhang attends Wellesley College and the two faced off in late January when Zhang picked up a three-game win.
The second time the two faced off was at the College Squash Association Team Nationals, when the Jumbos avenged their earlier season loss and knocked off the Blue 6-3. Stanco took Zhang to five games in the first position, but wasn't able to edge her. She will hope for different results on Saturday. The two will face off on Saturday at 9:40 am.
