WILLIAMSTOWN - Tufts University Men's Golf grabbed fifth place with a 309 score on Day 1 in the Williams Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Jumbos posted a 309 score for Day 1 with senior Owen Elliott registering in the top ten of the tournament. Elliott featured a two-over 73, tied for second place. Junior co-captain Taylor Nordan submitted a tied for seventh performance with an three-over 74.
Junior co-captain Aaron Corn concluded Day 1 with a tied for 33rd place shooting an eight-over 79. Freshman Brandon Karr recorded a 12-over 83 while Ethan Sorkin finished with an 84.
Trinity College (CT) leads Day 1 with 301 total strokes. Cam O'Connell and Will Rosenfield opened with tied for second showing by shooting 73's.
A total of 18 teams are playing in the tournament at Taconic Golf Club.
Medalist honors are currently held by fourth-place Middlebury College's Phillippe Morin who struck an even 71.
The Jumbos tee off at 9 am tomorrow to begin Day 2 of the Williams Fall Invitational.
