MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University women's swimming & diving team totaled 17 top-three finishes in dual-meet action on Sunday afternoon, as the Jumbos opened up the 2017 portion of their schedule with a 195.5-104.5 setback against MIT at Hamilton Pool in Medford, Massachusetts.

Hannah Truslow was the Jumbos' top-finisher in two events on Sunday.

Sophomore Colleen Doolan, who competed at the NCAA Division III Championships last season, continued her superb season, by posting two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in individual-event action.

Doolan, who was named to the All-NESCAC team last season, earned first-place honors in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.61, nine points) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.24, nine points), while garnering second-place recognition in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.29, four points). Grace Goetcheus posted two second-place finishes Sunday.

The Kensington, Maryland, native has totaled five top-two finishes on the individual side in her rookie campaign, including finishing first overall in the 100 backstroke during her collegiate debut in a 156-144 dual-meet victory over Middlebury on Nov. 20. She has also been an integral part of two second-place finishes in team-oriented events, which came in the 400-yard medley relay against Middlebury and the 400-yard freestyle relay in a meet against Wesleyan, Williams and WPI on Dec. 10.

The Jumbos also excelled on Sunday in a couple relay events, as the Jumbos' "B" team, featuring sophomore Caroline McCormick, senior captain Sarah Elghor, freshman Rica Generoso and freshman Brooke Bernstein placed third overall in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.49, two points). Bernstein, junior Jess Lee, sophomore Alexandra Good and senior captain Sophia Lin teamed up for the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing second overall with a time of 1:42.80 and adding four points to the Jumbos' total.
