Women's Swimming and Diving Win Two of Three Dual Meets at Wesleyan

Lily Kurtz collected two top-three finishes at Wesleyan.

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University women's swimming and diving team won two out of three while competing at Wesleyan University today against WPI, Williams, and the host Cardinals.

While there were four teams present, the results were scored as if each team was competing in three separate dual meets against the other schools. The Jumbos beat Wesleyan 214-81 and WPI 206-113, but fell to Williams 225-90.

In diving, freshman Amber Chong took second place in both events. She scored a 254.95 in the one-meter contest, and a 241.05 in the three-meter competition. Another strong double performance came from freshman Lily Kurtz came in second place in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:08.66 time and third in the 50 breaststroke with a mark of 31.99 seconds.

Sophomore Katherine Brown took second in the 50 breast with a 31.54 to open the day. Sasha Fong came in second in the 50 butterfly with a 25.75. And Colleen Doolan took second in the 200 butterfly with a 2:10.51.

The Jumbos, winners of four out of five in their fall semester dual meet season, will next compete on Jan. 16 at Boston College.
