CAMBRIDGE – The Tufts University women's swimming & diving team totaled 310 points on Friday night as they close out day one of the MIT Winter Invitational in first place out of seven teams.

MIT (238), RPI (108), Wellesley College (99), and Wheaton College (91) round out the top five in the women's side of the event.
The Jumbos' A-relay team, consisting of senior Grace Goetcheus, junior Abby Claus, sophomore Mary Hufziger, and freshman Claire Brennan, finished second in the 800-yard free relay with a team time of 7:30.42. The MIT winning team finished in 7:29.61. The Jumbo B-relay team finished third with a time of 7:35.03, made up of junior Katelin Isakoff, senior Hannah Truslow, junior Amy Socha, and freshman Chloe Deveney. Both times are NCAA B-cuts.
Claus and Goetcheus were first and second in a 100 yard individual medley time trial. The duo finished at 59.21 and 59.33. Freshman Elle Morse took third at 1:00.87.
Junior Sook-Hee Evans grabbed a second-place finish at 17:35.45 in the 1650 yard free. Freshman Allison Cremer finished third in the event with a time of 17:38.71.
Senior Brooke Bernstein earned the win in the 50-yard butterfly time trial with a mark of 26.80.
Freshman diver Alaina Kosko scored 253.70, which was good for third in the 1-meter contest. Classmate Sydney Ho finished in fifth with a 238.55 score.
The Jumbos enter day two of the MIT Winter Invitational leading the way out of seven teams. Saturday action kicks off at 10:30 am followed by a 5:30 pm evening session.
