CAMBRIDGE – Tufts University sophomore diver Amber Chong finished her weekend at the 2019 NCAA Division III Region 3 Diving Championships on Saturday afternoon at MIT.
Competing in the three-meter diving regional championship, Chong finished 17th with a 366.25 score for 11 dives. Her finish and score were both better than her routine at last year's Regional, when she was 22nd with a 322.10 for the three-meter event.
Today Chong needed to be among the top nine to advance to the NCAA Championships March 20-23 in North Carolina.
Yesterday Chong was 13th in the one-meter event at the zone regional, which also better her marks last year of 20th place with a 365.65 score.
MIT's Blake Zhou won the regional three-meter championship with a 527.10 score.
