MEDFORD – The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team fell to MIT in their last home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Pool, 155-139.
Seniors Costa Camerano, Roger Gu, and Matthew Manfre and sophomore Nate Tingen finished on the top spot in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. They made up the A-Relay team who set a new pool record with a time

1:32.18. The B-Relay team finished fourth with a time of 1:35.22. They were made up of junior Lomax Turner, sophomore Tar Tar Jarusinchai, and freshmen Joshua Balbi and Peter LaBarge.
Junior John Lalime set a new pool record in the 1000 Yard Freestyle as he finished the event in 9:47.10. Freshman Evan Szablewski finished second as he was just .86 off the winning pace.
In the 200 Yard Freestyle, junior John Koster earned a third place finish with a time of 1:44.45. Classmate Tyler Tatro was fifth at 1:46.33.
Tingen finished in third in the 100 Yard Backstroke. His time of 51.69 was good enough to edge Balbi who was fourth at 52.03.
Jarusinchai was just .75 off the pool record in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. He finished on the top spot with a time of 58.88. Junior JJ Batt finished fourth with a time of 1:00.17.
Freshman Sebastian Cai earned a third place finish in the 200 Yard Butterfly He completed the event in 1:56.34, earning three points for the Jumbos.
Gu set a new pool record in the 50 Yard Freestyle. He was the only competitor with a sub-20 second time at 19.71. LaBarge was third in the event with a 20.80.
Gu nearly broke his own pool record in the 100 Yard Freestyle. His time of 45.07 was just .11 off the record. LaBarge finished the event in fourth with a time of 47.03.
Tingen earned a second place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke. He completed the event in 1:55.27. Sophomore Ethan Webster was fourth with a time of 1:55.85.
In the 200 Yard Breaststroke, Jarusinchai grabbed a second place finish with a time of 2:08.24, just .74 off the winning pace. Senior Alexander Burnam was third, completing the event in 2:12.06. Sophomore Michael Gregorace was fifth with a time of 2:14.74.
Lalime finished third in the 500 Yard Freestyle. He completed the event in 4:46.07, which was less than one second off the top pace. Tatro was fourth in the event with a time of 4:53.50. Szablewski was .04 behind Tatro, good for fifth.
Balbi finished third in the 100 Yard Butterfly. He also was less than one second off the top time at 50.86. Turner finished in sixth in the event with a time of 52.55.
In the 200 Yard IM, Jarusinchai earned a third place finish with a time of 1:54.27. Tingen completed the event in 1:58.46, good for fifth in the event.
LaBarge, Gu, Camerano, and freshman Dylan Brown earned a second place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. They were just .15 off the top time, which is a new pool record.
In the 1 meter dive, freshman Zachary Lawrence, Kai Renshaw, and Matt Langley earned the top steps of the podium. Lawrence finished with a score of 302.02. Renshaw and Langley had scores of 250.19 and 227.39. The trio swept the podium in the 3 meter dive as well. Lawrence had a score of 248.10 while Renshaw and Langley finished at 239.63 and 224.99.
The Jumbos will head to Boston University for a two-day invitational on Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th.
