BREWSTER, MA (October 15, 2022) -- The Tufts University golf squad competed in the opening day of action from the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, hosted at the Captains Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
The Jumbos finished the opening round of action ninth overall as a team, after firing a 306 for the day. Tufts was 18 shots over par over the afternoon, which was just four shots off the fifth spot, currently held by Eastern Connecticut State University.
Tufts was paced by
Jack Meehan, who fired a two-over 74 to finish the day tied for 14th place.
Holden Kittelberger was tied for 21st with a three-over 75, while
Kemp Bassett carded a 77 for the opening round for 41st place.
Tufts also had
Travis Clauson posted an eight-over 80 for the afternoon, while
Eric Lancellotti was just behind him with an 10-over 82.
The squads will be back on the course Sunday for the second and final round of action at The Captains Course.
