Golf Wins Western New England Invitational

WILBRAHAM - The Tufts University golf team finished first out of eight teams at the one-day Western New England Invitational held at par-72 Wilbraham Country Club on Saturday.

The Jumbos' four best scores totaled 297 strokes for a wide 13-stroke victory over second-place Nichols College (310). Trinity College was third with a 313 final score.

Jumbos Jack Meehan (pictured) and Travis Clauson tied for second place individually with one-over 73's. They were behind Amherst College's Steven Chen who was the tournament's medalist with a 70 (two under).

Adam Schwimmer was third for Tufts and tied for fourth overall with a 75, and Kemp Bassett was Tufts' fourth scorer at 76.
