Blase, Team 2nd at Trinity Golf Tournament Through One Day

BERLIN, Conn. - In their first tournament of the spring, the Tufts University golf team is tied for second place out of 10 teams at Trinity College's annual Bill Detrick Invitational following Saturday's first round.

The Jumbos' four-best scores totaled to 315 strokes on Saturday. They are two strokes behind one of two Trinity teams in the field, and tied with the other.

Ben Blase (pictured) was low man for Tufts and second in the tournament on Saturday, shooting a three-over 75. Adam Schwimmer was also in the 70s for the Jumbos at 79. Jack Meehan (80) and Travis Clauson (81) were also scorers for Tufts.

A total of 58 players finished in the first round. Elms' Michael Keefe leads the individuals with a two-over 74.

Sunday's play at Timberlin Golf Club begins at 11:00 am.
