BRUNSWICK, ME - The Tufts University golf team finished a solid fifth at the 15-team Bowdoin Invitational on Sunday, the Jumbos' best showing of the fall season thus far.
Tufts was sixth after Saturday's round, where their four-best scores totaled to 313 strokes. They were four strokes lower today for a 309, giving them a 622 final team score.
Senior
Kemp Bassett led the Jumbos on Sunday with a two-over 74 on Sunday. He was even-par for the front nine (37) including a birdie two on the fourth hole. HIs two-day 152 score, including Saturday's 78, tied for ninth individually.
Graduate student
Travis Clauson shot one-over 73 on Saturday, but slipped to 80 on Sunday. Still, his 153 tournament total tied for 11th out of the 79 golfers in the field.
Also scoring for Tufts on Sunday was freshman
Holden Kittelberger at 77 and junior
Jack Meehan with a 78.
Endicott College won the tournament after a strong 298 performance on Sunday. They finished at 607 strokes overall. The Gulls' Tyler Baker, Trinity's Nicholas Li and Mauro Stanchieri from Suffolk all tied for medalist honors with 148 scores.
