MEDFORD, MA (October 19, 2023) -- The Tufts University men's lacrosse team, NCAA Tournament finalists in 2022 as well as coming off another New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title, released its 2024 schedule on Thursday highlighted by a trip to the prestigious Mustang Classic in March.
The Jumbos open things up with a pair of home games in the first week of March, as Tufts entertains Connecticut College March 2 on Bello Field in the season opener. Four days later, the Jumbos will take on Christopher Newport University on Bello Field in a matchup of teams ranked in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Top 5 for the entirety of 2023.
Tufts heads to Trinity College for more NESCAC play on Saturday, March 9 before traveling down to Owings Mills, MD for the 2024 Mustang Classic. Regularly the biggest event in all of Division III lacrosse, the Jumbos will play Hamilton College in NESCAC play March 15 before taking on RIT Saturday, March 16 in a NCAA Tournament semifinals rematch from last spring.
The non-conference schedule continues on March 23 in Jersey, as the Jumbos take on Stevens in Hoboken Saturday, March 23. Union College comes to Medford for another non-conference tilt on March 26, followed by NESCAC play against Colby to finish the month of March.
Three of the next four games are on the road for Tufts, as a home game against Wesleyan April 6 is sandwiched between road games at Williams College (April 3), Bates College (April 10) and Middlebury College (April 13). The final non-conference game is April 16 at home against local rival Babson College, while Tufts finishes the regular season on Bello Field with contests against Amherst College April 20 and Bowdoin College on April 24. The NESCAC Tournament starts the following Saturday, April 27, while the first weekend of May is scheduled for the NESCAC semifinals and finals.
NCAA Tournament action continues through Memorial Day weekend, with the national title game being played at Lincoln Financial Field once again in 2024.
