Peyton Durand has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week today.
Durand posted a 41-save shutout (2-0) at Amherst College on Friday night, then made 36 saves as the Jumbos won 2-1 at Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon. Making 77 saves on 78 shots faced and allowing just one goal in 120 minutes, Durand had an outstanding .987 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average for the weekend.

Pat Norton's Jumbos entered the weekend ninth in the NESCAC standings, looking to move up into one of the top eight spots in order to receive a berth into the upcoming conference tournament. With the six points earned in the two wins, Tufts is now eighth in the league with 16.5 points heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
The shutout over Amherst was Durand's second of the year. After the Jumbos scored early, Durand took over and had12 saves in the first period, 16 in the second and then 13 in the third to help close out the victory. In the Hamilton game, the teams were tied 1-1 heading into the third when Durand helped the Jumbos kill three Continental power-plays early in the third frame before Tufts scored to go ahead. He then later helped shut down the hosts when they pulled their goalie for most of the final 2:40 of play, giving the Jumbos a weekend sweep of the important conference games.
This is the second Tufts goalie to win NESCAC's Player of the Week award this season. Freshman Gus Bylin was the recipient on December 12.
Tufts hosts Bowdoin College and Colby College on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
