MIDDLETOWN, CT (February 19 2023) – Three members of the Tufts University women's swimming & diving team improved their national qualifying marks at today's February Invite held at Wesleyan University.
In the 200 breaststroke, first-year
Quinci Wheeler swam a 2:20.62 time that improved upon her 2:21.79 season-best. Today's mark is well under the 2:21.44 NCAA 'B' cut.
Sophomore
Cierra McCarty timed 4:29.22 for an NCAA 'B' mark (4:29.76) in the 400 IM. It's 1.83 seconds faster than the 4:31.05 that had been her season-best. Sophomore
Sora Sohn also swam a 400 IM today, but could not improve upon her best time with today's 4:35.24 finish.
Senior
Tory Atkinson improved her NCAA 'B' range with her 2:05.24 mark in the 200 IM today. Her 2:05.49 at NESCAC's had been her 'B' mark previously.
Senior
Allison Cremer was also at Wesleyan today, where her 1650 freestyle time of 17:28.89 did not improve upon her season-best.
Swimming selections for the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships will be announced on Wednesday (Feb. 23). The meet is scheduled for March 15-18 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
