WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (September 16, 2023) – The Tufts University men's golf team is four shots off the lead after one day at the Williams Fall Invite Saturday at Taconic Golf Club.
The Jumbos' four scores totaled to 301 strokes, good for fourth place out of 22 teams after 18 holes. Tufts trails Trinity College and the University of Rochester, who are tied for the lead with 297 team scores, as well as third-place Babson College (298).
Tufts had three players shoot three-over par 74's today –
Jack Meehan,
Holden Kittelberger and
Nick McCabe. They are all tied for 13
th place out of the 113 players in the tournament.
Eric Lancellotti also scored for the Jumbos with a 79.
Reed Bodley was the Jumbos' fifth golfer (80).
Meehan birdied two holes on his back nine today where he finished one-over 37. Kittelberger was even-par 36 on his back nine and finished his round with three birdies. McCabe, playing his first collegiate round, also shot even par on the back nine and had three birdies overall.
Jack Reinardy of Gustavus Adolphus College had Saturday's low round of three-under 68.
Day two of the tournament tomorrow begins at 9:00 AM.
