WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (September 17, 2023) – Tufts Men's Golf placed a solid sixth out of 22 teams at the Williams Fall Invitational, finishing on Sunday at Taconic Golf Club.
The Jumbos' 298 team score today was three better than their 301 on Saturday. The 599 team total was just one stroke behind fifth-place Amherst College (598). The Jumbos were third out of nine NESCAC teams at the event overall.
Scoring for Tufts today were
Jack Meehan (74),
Nick McCabe (74),
Reed Bodley (74) and
Holden Kittelberger (76). The fifth Tufts golfer was
Eric Lancellotti who shot 82.
Meehan shot an even-par 35 with two birdies on the front nine this morning. He and McCabe, who both shot 74 on Saturday as well, finished in tie for 16
th individually in the tournament with two-day 148 totals. Kittelberger (74-76-150) tied for 24
th.
Babson College came from third place on Saturday to win the tournament today with a 284 team score today for a 582 total. They were 10 strokes up on second-place Trinity College.
Gustavus Adolphus College's Jack Reinardy won medalist honors with a two-day 141 (68-73).
Tufts will play in a tournament at Bowdoin College next weekend.
