Good Sunday Scores Lift Golf To Tie For 7th at Bowdoin Tournament

BRUNSWICK, ME (September 24, 2023) – Jumbo Men's Golf tied for the second-best team score on Sunday to move up into a tie for seventh place overall out of 22 teams at the Bowdoin Invitational.

Tufts' four best scores on Sunday totaled to 296 strokes, the same as NYU and Hamilton College and behind only host Bowdoin (295) for the day. Added to their Saturday 302 team score, the Jumbos finished the tournament at 598 to tie for seventh with Bowdoin.

Leading the Jumbos on Sunday was sophomore Holden Kittelberger with an even-par 72. He shot two-under 33 on the back fine with birdie 3's on 12 and 17.

Sophomore Nick McCabe, who shot two-over 74 including an even-par 35 coming in today, was Tufts' top scorer for the weekend. He tied for 19th overall for the two days with a 149 score.

Jack Meehan (74) and Colin O'Holleran (76) also scored for Tufts today. Reed Bodley was the fifth Jumbo golfer shooting 77.

Bodley, Kittelberger and Meehan all had 150 scores for the two rounds to tie for 20th place individually out of 110 golfers at the event. O'Holleran had a two-day 157.

Trinity College won the tournament with a 589 team score (291-298). NYU freshman Jomyuth Luangtana-anan shot five-under 67 today to win medalist honors with a 140 tournament score.

The Jumbos are off next week, then play their final tournament of the fall at Skidmore College on October 7-8.
