Men's Swimming & Diving Wins Every Event at Brandeis on Sunday

WALTHAM, MA (November 24, 2024) - The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team won every event in a dual meet at Brandeis University on Sunday which the Jumbos won 230-54.

Soeren Euvrard won twice individually (50 and 100 butterflies), 12 other Jumbos won events and Tufts took both relays as they wrapped up a busy weekend at Brandeis. The Jumbos had competed in a quad meet at WPI on Saturday.

Euvrard swam the third leg (butterfly) in the opening 200 medley relay for the Jumbos. He was joined by Eric Lundgren (backstroke), Emmett Adams (breaststroke) and Armaan Sikka (freestyle) for a victory in a 1:33.97 time.

Later in the meet, Euvrard would post his wins in the 50 and 100 butterflies with 23.28 and 51.24 times. Lundgren and Adams also had individual victories in the 100 freestyle (47.36) and the 50 breaststroke (27.25), respectively.

After the opening relay, Louie Demetriades won the first individual event with a 10:16.95 mark in the 1000 freestyle. Nate Pfeffer followed up with a 1:46.47 win in the 200 free.

Freshmen won four times for the Jumbos on Sunday. Campbell McFall was first in the 50 backstroke with a mark of 25.52 seconds. Timmy Brady led the 100 breaststroke field with a 1:01.83 finish. Nick Montfort touched first in the 500 freestyle in a 4:49.11 swim. Sam Harris was the 100 individual medley winner in 55.67 seconds.

Alex Gu was the fastest freestyle sprinter in the pool on Sunday with a win in the 50 (22.44). Evan Wang won the 100 backstroke in 54.86 seconds.

The Jumbos had strong scores in both diving events. Jay Wilkinson won in one-meter with a 333.22 total, and Elias Brandt's 346.43 was the top mark in three-meter.

Tufts closed the meet with a 1:26.02 time in the 200 freestyle relay to win. Montfort, Will Kaminski, Adams and Lundgren combined on the time.

For host Brandeis, Samuel Bundy in the 1000 freestyle (10:23.58), Riley Pasicaran in the 50 back (26.19) and Eric Xiao in the 50 free (22.49) all posted second-place finishes.

The Jumbos will return to action December 6-9 at the MIT Invitational to close the first semester.
