WALTHAM, MA (November 24, 2024) - The Tufts University women's swimming & diving team finished a busy weekend with a 221-62 victory at Brandeis University on Sunday afternoon.
After competing at a quad meet hosted by WPI on Saturday, the Jumbos had 12 different individuals win events and also took both relays on Sunday against the Judges.
Lara Wujciak,
Abby Miller,
Jade Foltenyi and
Sydney Stasz got things started with a 1:52.47 time to win the 200 medley relay. Wujciak would later win the 50 backstroke in 28.05 seconds early in the meet.
Alli Brown was the only entry in the 1000 freestyle and swam 11:09.5 to pick up the nine first-place points for Tufts. After Wujciak's 50 back win,
Elena Harrison swam 32.36 for first place in the 50 breaststroke.
Katharine Skelly in the 100 butterfly (1:00.19) and
Jillian Cudney in the 50 freestyle (24.88) also added victories.
For diving,
Luci Karp submitted the top one-meter score of 283.85.
Nika Renshaw would later win the three-meter event with another solid early-season mark of 302.77.
Quinci Wheeler's 53.51 won the 100 freestyle. That was followed by a 100 backstroke win from
Olivia Pettit (59.56) and a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke by Stasz (1:11.01).
Selin Tuncay swam 5:26.50 in the 500 free for first place, and
Gaurika Singh continued her strong early-season start with a 1:02.89 victory in the 100 individual medley.
In the last event, the Jumbo 200 freestyle relay of
Isa Chambers, Stasz,
Emma Claus and Cudney combined on a 1:39.70 winning time.
Chloe Gonzalez from host Brandeis won a pair of events. She timed 1:58.63 in the 200 freestyle and 26.82 in the 50 butterfly for victories.
The Jumbos are off until they wrap up the first semester at the MIT Invitational December 6-8.
