WATERVILLE, ME (February 22, 2024) - The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team's 800 freestyle relay smashed the school record in the event to start the 2024 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships at Colby College Thursday night.

Ethan Schreier, freshman
Rafae Shafi, junior
Eric Lundgren and sophomore
Armaan Sikka combined on a time of 6:33.48 that was second in the meet. They were five seconds faster than the previous school record of 6:38.44 set last year.
Tufts placed second behind Williams College, which won the race with a 6:29.14 mark which is a new conference record.

Nate Pfeffer timed 6:44.04 for 13th place.
The Jumbos' two relays scored a combined 78 points, which is in second place behind Williams College (90) after the lone opening night race. Connecticut College, Bates College and Amherst College are tied for third place with 70 scores.
The meet starts in full tomorrow with preliminaries at 10 AM, one-meter diving trials at 2 PM and finals at 6 PM.
