MEDFORD, MA (February 29, 2024) – Ten Tufts University men's swimmers were announced as qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships coming up in Greensboro, North Carolina March 20-23.

Adams, LaBarge, Lundgren and Schreier will compete at NCAA's for the third straight year. Duffy, Stearns and Sikka are qualified for the second straight year, and Euvrard also earns his second national berth including 2022. The others will compete nationally for the first time.
Shafi is Tufts' top-ranked qualifier. He enters the NCAA meet as the third seed in the 500 freestyle where he has a 4:25.12 time. He's also fourth in the 1650 freestyle with a 15:27.77 mark. Other Jumbos with top-eight rankings entering the meet are Lundgren, who is third in the 200 backstroke at 1:45.05, and LaBarge, who is seeded seventh in the 50 freestyle (19.95).
Tufts has top-eight times in four of the five relays. The foursome of LaBarge, Euvrard, Stearns and Sikka have the #2 time in the 400 freestyle relay with a 2:56.43 mark. The Jumbos are also ranked third in the 800 free relay at 6:33.48 (Schreier, Shafi, Lundgren, Sikka), as well as in the 400 medley relay at 3:12.44 (Lundgren, Adams, Schreier, LaBarge).
Tufts has entries in 17 of the 18 swimming events. The Jumbos have five qualifiers in the 100 butterfly, led by Sikka as the #11 seed followed by Euvrard, Stearns, Schreier and Adams. Four from Tufts are in the 200 individual medley - Schreier, Lundgren, Nussbaum and Sikka.
Events with three Jumbos include the 50 free (LaBarge, Euvrard, Stearns) and the 100 free (LaBarge, Euvrard, Sikka). Two Jumbos are in the 200 free (Shafi, LaBarge), the 100 breast (Adams, Nussbaum) and the 200 breast (Nussbaum, Adams). Events with one Jumbo are the 500 free (Shafi), 200 butterfly (Schreier), 100 back (Lundgren), the 1650 free (Shafi) and the 200 back (Lundgren).
The qualifying Jumbo 200 freestyle relay team includes LaBarge, Stearns, Duffy and Euvrard. The 200 medley relay team was Lundgren, Adams, Sikka and LaBarge.
The Jumbos hope to add some divers to their NCAA roster following the NCAA Diving Regional this weekend (Mar. 1-2).
