Golf Finishes 9th of 23 Teams in Day 1 Action of The Tim Brown Invitational

BALLSTON SPA, NY (April 13, 2024) - The Tufts University men's golf team opened their second tournament of the year. The Jumbos are playing in the Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College at par 71 Ballston Spa Country Club.

The Jumbos currently sit tied for ninth place after day 1 of action on the links, the Jumbos accumulated a team score of 15 over 299. Sophomore Reed Bodley finished the day even par 71. Bodley started on hole 11 to open the round, he finished his first nine holes three over par birding hole 15. He had a great final nine holes as he dropped 4 birdies including three straight. Bodley sits tied for fifth going into the second day.

First-year Nick McCabe finished the day three over 74 and sits tied for 23. McCabe started on the back nine of the course finishing his opening 9 holes six over. McCabe did not record a bogey on the front nine as he shot three under 32 with 3 birdies and six pars on the front. Senior Jack Meehan finished today four over 75 and is tied for 40. Meehan had started on the back nine today as he opened his round with a par on 10. Meehan finished the back nine with a single bogey and eight pars. Meehan's only birdie of the day came on the par 5 eighth hole.

First-year JP Noone finished the day tied at 74 as he shot six over 77. Noone had two birdies on the day as they came on holes six and eight. First-year Brendan Roy finished the day with a 78 birdieing hole 8, and sophomore Holden Kittelberger shot an 80 on the day.

Bowdoin College and Trinity College sit tied for first with scores of six over 290, Hamilton College and Babson College (B) sit tied for third with scores of seven over 291. Husson University sits alone in fifth place going nine over 293 on the day, St. Lawerence University is in sixth place shooting a team score of 11 over 295. Farmingdale State and Middlebury College sit tied for seventh place with scores of 12 over 296. Amherst College is tied at ninth with the Jumbos with a score of 15 over.
