WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (April 20, 2024) -- The Tufts University men's golf team started day one of the Williams Spring Invitational Saturday morning, the match was played at the par 71 Taconic Golf Club.
The Jumbos finished the day with a team score of 24 over 308. Senior
Jack Meehan had a good day on the links as he shot three over 74 and is tied for 12 at the end of day 1. Meehan had four birdies on the day including three birdies on the back nine. Sophomore
Reed Bodley finished day one five over 76 and is tied for 19. Bodley had two birdies on the day and saved for par nine times in the opening round.
Sophomore
Holden Kittelberger finished day 1 at seven over 78 which is currently tied for 31. Kittelberger had one birdie on the day which was at hole 9, and saved for par 11 times today. First-years
Nick McCabe and
Brendan Roy finished the day nine over 80 which is tied for 40. McCabe finished the day with two birdies and Roy finished with three.
Trinity College sits in first place after day one seven over 291. Hosts Williams College sits in second eight over. Bowdoin College is third at eleven over 295. Hamilton and Middlebury College are tied at four as they both shot 13 over 297. Amherst College finished 16 over 300 which is sixth. Bates College finished 23 over 307 which is seventh and Wesleyan University sits at ninth going 34 over 318.
The Jumbos will continue action tomorrow April 21, at 10 A.M in day two action of the Williams Spring
Invitational.
