MEDFORD, MA (April 3, 2024) - Four Tufts University swimmers have earned places on the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in th pool and in the classroom.
The Jumbos receiving the honor are graduate student
Peter LaBarge and juniors
Emmett Adams,
Charlie Duffy and
Eric Lundgren. LaBarge earns the recognition for the second straight year.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a significant contributor to the team with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. A limit of four nominations per team is set. Eligible individuals need to compete in four competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet.
Adams (psychology/clinical major), Duffy (human factors engineering), Lundgren (environmental engineering) and LaBarge (biology) helped head coach
Adam Hoyt's Tufts team finish ninth at the NCAA Division III Championships in March, and as the runner-up in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming and diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 24.
