CAMBRIDGE, MA (May 16, 2024) -- The Tufts University women's track and field team competed in their final event before the announcement of the NCAA Championships field Friday, as the Jumbos took to the track at the MIT Final Qualifier Thursday evening.
Senior
Sarah Pillone raced to a new personal-best time in the 100m hurdles, as she recorded a time of 14.55 seconds for second place. The time was 32nd best in the nation after Friday's performances, while it ranks No. 5 in the all-time outdoor record books for the Jumbos.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Tufts went 1-2 in the event as
Emma Smith ran a time of 1:03.49 for the victory. Teammate
Antonia Knoth ran a 1:05.73 to finish with the silver medalist. In the pole vault, first-year
Emma Gall cleared 3.48 meters to earn fourth place in the field.
Junior
Jordan Andrew was third in the long jump after recording a mark of 5.06 meters, and then took the gold medal in the triple jump with a new personal-best attempt of 11.70 meters. The mark is tied for 33rd in the nation.
In the hammer, junior
Liz Graham posted a toss of 39.33 meters for sixth place.
