LEWISTON, ME (January 24, 2025) – The Tufts University women's swimming & diving team returned to action in full on Friday and earned a 146-68 victory at Bates College. The Jumbos had a solid overall performance against a good Bates team that was fourth at the NESCAC Championship last year.
For Tufts, graduate student
Jillian Cudney led the way with a pair of victories while also contributing to a relay win. She led 1-2-3 finishes for the Jumbos in both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly with times of 23.65 and 26.06, respectively. Cudney also held the anchor role for the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:36.06), joined by junior
Isa Chambers, sophomore
Elena Harrison and first-year
Sweeney Su.
Harrison had one of the stronger Jumbo swims of the night with a 2:07.33 PR to win the 200 individual medley. She was also the lead leg in the Jumbo 400 medley relay that had started the meet with a 3:54.50 time for second place. Senior
Abby Miller, senior
Lara Wujciak and junior Quincy Wheeler were also part of that foursome.
Those three would have top Tufts performances individually. Wheeler won the 100 freestyle in the middle of the meet with a 52.04 touch, while Wujciak in the 50 backstroke (28.14) and Miller in the 50 breaststroke (31.27) were both runner-ups.

In the diving events, junior
