MEDFORD, MA (January 25, 2025) – The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team won 13 of 16 events on Saturday to post a convincing 185-111 victory over neighboring rival MIT at Hamilton Pool.
In the January release of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division III poll, the Jumbos were ranked 10th and MIT was #5. However, today Tufts got the better of MIT in the Jumbos' final dual meet of the season.
Today was also the team's Senior Recognition meet, as nine Jumbos were honored in their final home event.

Charlie Duffy,
Soeren Euvrard,
Alex Gu,
Darrien Johnsen,
Eric Lundgren,
Ethan Schreier,
Brian Uribe and
Cameron Yuen were celebrated.
Lundgren, Adams, Schreier and Euvrard then celebrated in the pool by winning the first event. Their time of 1:29.17 took first in the 200 medley relay.
They would all later follow up with consecutive individual wins. Lundgren swam 48.76 to win the 100 backstroke, followed by a 56.43 victory in the 100 breaststroke by Adams. Schreier then was first in the 200 butterfly (1:49.79) and Euvrard capped the run with a 20.87 for first in the 50 freestyle.
Lundgren would also add a win in the 200 backstroke at 1:49.41. Schreier and Euvrard also contributed to the Jumbo victory in the 200 freestyle relay. The 1:24.32 time also included freshman
Campbell McFall and sophomore
Will Kaminski.
Yuen had scores adding up to 298.35 in one-meter diving, which had been contested on Thursday at MIT. He won the event with this NCAA qualifying mark. Sophomore
Elias Brandt, second in the event, also had an NCAA score of 291.15. Sophomore
Jay Wilkinson gave the Jumbos a 1-2-3 finish in one-meter diving with a 251.33 total.
Brandt would secure a victory of his own in three-meter diving, also held Thursday at MIT. His score of 302.03 is above the NCAA qualifying requirement. Yuen placed second (258.97).
Jumbo underclassman victories came from sophomores
Jan Springer (46.65 in the 100 freestyle),
Jack Nussbaum (2:04.84 in the 200 breaststroke) and
Dan Godino (4:40.72 in the 500 freestyle), as well as from freshman
Nick Montfort in the 200 freestyle (1:41.79).
Tufts scored well with numerous runner-up times as well. Godino in the 1000 freestyle at 9:37.85, Nussbaum's time of 57.28 seconds in the 100 breaststroke, Euvrard with a 46.88 in the 100 freestyle, Montfort's 4:42.03 for the 500 free and Lundgren in the 100 butterfly (49.95) all scored second-place points.
Tufts also had the #2 200 free relay. Adams, junior
Armaan Sikka, Gu and Houlton recorded a 1:24.35 mark that was just 0.03 behind the winning Jumbo foursome.
Thirds were scored by freshman
Ryan Manson's 1:43.08 mark in the 200 freestyle, junior
Nate Pfeffer swimming 1:53.08 in the 200 butterfly, Sikka pitching in a time of 47.29 seconds in the 100 free and Lundgren at 1:52.85 for the 200 IM in his final individual event of the day. Houlton's time of 47.49 seconds in the 100 free gave Tufts the top four marks in the event.
MIT's three winners today were Grant Hu in the 1000 freestyle, Ben Wu in the 100 butterfly and Jason Wang for the 200 IM.
Next up for the Jumbos will be the start of the championship season at the Boston Winter Open hosted by Boston University February 7-8.
