CAMBRIDGE, MA (December 6, 2025) – The Tufts University women's swimming & diving team enjoyed another fine day at the MIT Winter Invitational on Saturday, including winning the 200 freestyle relay.
The foursome of
Isa Chambers,
Quinci Wheeler,
Sydney Stasz and
Katharine Skelly combined on a 1:34.41 winning time in the 200 free relay final. It's also an NCAA B mark. Skelly anchored the 200 free relay with a 23.07 final leg.
The Jumbos also had a solid performance in the 400 medley relay, where
Elena Harrison, Wheeler,
Angel Smyrniou and Skelly were the runner-up in a 3:49.48 time. This was another relay B national qualifier for Tufts.
Madeleine Dunn had a pair of strong swims today. She twice hit the NCAA B mark in the 400 individual medley, including her 4:26.01 time that was second in the final. She also timed 1:52.78 for fifth place in the 200 freestyle after touching in 1:52.71 for the morning preliminaries in the event.
Skelly also twice lowered her personal-best in the 50 freestyle during the day. The first time was with a 23.90 in the morning preliminaries and then with a 23.82 for third place in tonight's final.
Wheeler swam 1:03.26 for an NCAA B mark and third place in the 100 breaststroke event. She was followed by Stasz in fourth place, whose 1:04.17 was just 0.05 off the NCAA B cut. Stasz also hit a personal-best with her 51.96 in a 100 freestyle time trial this morning.
Harrison was the lead Jumbo in the 200 butterfly, where her time of 2:04.53 was third at the meet.
Olivia Pettit posted Tufts' top time in the 100 backstroke finals (57.36). Harrison was fourth in that event with a 57.37 finish.
Malia Leung totaled a 409.50 score in the one-meter diving event today, which was over the 395 NCAA qualifying score for 11 dives. She was fourth at the meet.
The Jumbos are second in the team scoring out of nine with 783 points. Host MIT leads at 921.50 while Hamilton College is third (400.5) and Middlebury College is fourth (364).
Sunday's final day of the MIT Winter Invitational will have preliminaries at 10:00 AM and finals starting at 6:00 PM.
