MEDFORD, MA (March 12, 2025) -- The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's squash awards were announced Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. by the league office, and junior standout
Vharsha Dinesh was selected to the All-NESCAC First Team for the third time in her career.
The junior played at the No. 1 spot for the entirety of the 2024-25 season for the Jumbos, as she picked up eight wins at the top spot for the Jumbos. She played in 17 of the team's 20 matches, getting the best player on the opposing team in each match. She posted seven straight wins during the middle of the year, including picking wins over No. 11 Dartmouth, No. 13 Amherst, No. 16 Amherst, No. 15 Williams, No. 17 Bowdoin and No. 18 Bates College.
She was also honored with All-NESCAC First Team as a first-year and sophomore, and is the first three-time All-NESCAC performer at Tufts since Claire Davidson earned league accolades in 2017, 2019 for 2020.
Trinity's Jana Safay was named the NESCAC Player of the Year for the second time in her career. Amherst newcomer Kristen Daniel was voted as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, the Amherst coaching staff was selected as the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers for the first time since 2008.
