GREENSBORO, NC (March 22, 2025) – The Tufts University men's swimming & diving team had their best national championship meet finish since 2018 as the Jumbos placed seventh at the 2025 NCAA Championships which finished up on Saturday.
At the four-day meet, Tufts had its third straight Top 10 finish nationally as a team, won a co-national championship (200 medley relay), had nine individuals earn All-American honors and broke five school records.
The performance crowned the careers of the outstanding Tufts senior class, many of whom were key contributors to the NCAA success.
Senior
Eric Lundgren added two more All-American finishes on Saturday night to cap his career with 19, third-most in school history. He took third place tonight in the 200 backstroke (1:44.80) for the best NCAA individual finish of his career. He also swam a leg with the 400 freestyle relay which placed 12th in a 2:59.53 time. An All-American in seven events this week, Lundgren also broke school records in the 50 back (with the 200 medley relay), 100 back, 200 individual medley and as part of the 200 medley relay.
Seniors
Emmett Adams and
Soeren Euvrard finished their careers with 12 All-American honors apiece. Both were All-Americans in five events at the meet. They were also part of the 400 freestyle relay, as was junior
Armaan Sikka who lifted his all-time All-American total to 13. Sikka earned a share of four All-American relay performances this week.
Senior
Ethan Schreier was also a key ingredient to Tufts' success. He finished his career in the 200 backstroke tonight, where his 1:49.56 was 29th overall. He had earned his sixth All-American award in the 200 butterfly earlier this week.
Sophomore
Rafae Shafi produced his fifth All-American effort in the 1650 freestyle today. His 15:46.34 time for 14th place was a second straight All-American honor in the event. Shafi was a two-time All-American this week and broke the 200 freestyle record as part of the 800 free relay.
Tufts scored 29 points today to raise their final team score to 160 for seventh place. The Jumbos were the highest-finishing team in New England, ahead of NESCAC rival Williams College (12th) and local foe MIT (ninth).
