Noa Chambers and the Jumbo 400 freestyle relay swam All-American times to lead the Tufts University women's swimming & diving team on the final day of the NCAA Championships Saturday.
Senior
Jillian Cudney finished her outstanding career with the Jumbos by anchoring the 400 freestyle relay to an eighth-place finish tonight (3:23.67). The All-American finish is the 17th of Cudney's time at Tufts, giving her the most in school history. She was All-American in five events this week.
Joining Cudney in the 400 free relay were junior
Isa Chambers, junior
Quinci Wheeler and sophomore
Sydney Stasz. Seeded ninth entering the race, they got into the championship final with a sixth-place finish in the morning trials (3:23.28). Wheeler is now a nine-time All-American while both
Isa Chambers and Stasz earned their third.
Dunn added a sixth-place All-American award in the 1650 freestyle tonight (16:50.82) to her sixth in the 500 freestyle on Wednesday. She was Tufts' top individual performer this week with the two top-eight finishes. She is now an eight-time All-American.
Noa Chambers received her first All-American award tonight when she placed 15th in the 200 backstroke.
The three All-American efforts scored 37 points for the Jumbos today to earn an 11th-place finish in the team standings with a 93.5 total.
Cudney just missed the consolation final with her 17th place swim in the 100 freestyle preliminaries at 50.68 seconds. Wheeler at 51.88 and first-year
Angel Smyrniou at 53.40 (personal best) were also national qualifiers in the event. Senior
Gaurika Singh was 27th in the 200 backstroke with a 2:03.11 personal best, while classmate
Cierra McCarty swam 17:42.13 in the 1650 freestyle.
In all Tufts had 11 swimmers earn All-American honors at the NCAA meet. In addition to

Noa Chambers, Cudney, Dunn, Smyrniou, Stasz and Wheeler, senior
Emma Claus, sophomore
Elena Harrison, junior
Katharine Skelly and sophomore
Selin Tuncay will come back to Tufts as All-Americans.
Along with Cudney's five All-American awards this week, Dunn and Wheeler with four, and Stasz and
Isa Chambers with two were Jumbos with multiple national achievements.
