BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (April 12, 2025) - The Tufts University golf team sits in seventh place out of 20 teams after a solid start to the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational in Upstate New York following Round One on Saturday.
Junior
Reed Bodley led the way for the Jumbos in round one, finishing a single stroke over par with a score of 72. He played a fantastic front nine with four birdies on the opening half of the course. Birdies on holes 11 and 13 kept the junior in fantastic shape, but bogies on the final three holes saw him fall to 17th overall individually.
A stroke behind Bodley was fellow junior
Holden Kittelberger who finished two strokes over par with a 74. Similar to Bodley, the Texan golfer started strong with three birdies on the front nine. Unlike his classmate, Kittleberger only managed a single birdie over the back nine to land him in 25th overall.
Brendan Roy had a solid front nine as well, managing three birdies on holes two, three and eight. His back nine was clean but for a pair of bogies, landing the sophomore in 31st overall with three strokes over par.Â
The final Jumbo to earn a scoring position was sophomore
Keegan Carnell in his season debut. The sophomore managed a birdie on hole eight to make it four Jumbos with a -1 finish on the hole. Another birdie on hole 11 helped the sophomore to a 51st place finish with a 76.
The Jumbos will come back out for the second round of action in Ballston Spa tomorrow at noon with hopes of improving their solid position in the 20-team field.
