WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (April 19, 2025) - The Tufts University men's golf team sits in first place after a fantastic opening round of the Williams College Spring Invitational on Saturday.
Holden Kittelberger leads the competition after round one, hitting four under par for a 67. It was a nearly spotless day for the junior, with a bogey on hole seven the only blemish to an excellent set of 18 holes. The Texan-born Jumbo birdied holes five, six and eight before earning an eagle on hole 15.
Brendan Roy sits in second for the Jumbos, and third overall in the individual scoring. He birdied holes four, eight and twelve, but four bogies would see the junior finish round one at one stroke over par.Â
Sophomore
JP Noone took sixth place individually after round one. His day was highlighted by birdies on holes four, nine, seventeen and eighteen. Six bogies would see the Weston native sit two strokes over par following the opening day of action.
Junior
Reed Bodley matched Noone's score, albeit with a much smoother day. A birdie on hole eleven was his only positive score of the day, but there was only a pair of bogies to hold him back. The remaining 15 holes were all parred by the junior, resulting in him tying for sixth place with his teammate.
Eric Lancellotti and
Keegan Carnell also competed for the Jumbos in round one, with the senior Lancellotti finishing three over par with an eagle on hole 15 and sophomore Carnell finishing seven over par with an eagle on hole 17.
Tufts will continue the Williams Spring Invitational tomorrow at 11:00 am.Â
