Men's Golf Earns Runner-Up Finish at 2026 NESCAC Championships

EAST HADDAM, CT (April 26, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team collected a runner-up finish at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships following the final round at Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam, Connecticut.

Brendan Roy paced the Jumbos with a strong seven over par total across the three day event to finish fourth individually. Roy struggled to start off his final round with a double bogey and bogey in his first three holes, but responded strongly with five par or better holes to end the front nine with a three over par score of 39. The junior kept up his consistent play on the way in with seven pars and just two bogeys to card a five over par score of 76.

Holden Kittelberger placed just behind Roy with a ten over par total to rank fifth individually. Kittelberger had a solid final day as the lone senior in the Jumbo lineup with a stroke total of 76. Kittelberger was in total command of course through the first seven holes with six pars and a birdie on the fifth hole. The senior captured an even par mark of 36 on the front half before shooting five over on the second nine with some late bogeys.

Jason Zawtocki made some serious noise in his NESCAC Championship debut with an 11 over par score throughout 54 holes to place eighth individually. The first year shot three over par on the way out with six pars. Zawtocki picked up a birdie on the back half, but some bogeys in the closing holes hurt his finish as he notched a stroke total of 80 on the final 18.

JP Noone finished 13th in the field of 50 golfers with a 14 over total across the three day tournament. Similar to Kittelberger, Noone was lights out with no bogey marks through his first seven holes to shoot just one over the first nine holes. The junior posted two birdies and two pars on the back nine with a stroke total of 39 to be the third Jumbo with a five over score in the final round.

Nick McCabe registered a 40th place finish individually and finished strong with a six over final round scorecard. McCabe shot six over on the front before shooting dead even par on the back with an eagle on the final hole.

The Jumbos take home second place in the tournament, 13 strokes behind the event winner Williams and 15 strokes ahead of third place Hamilton.
