WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (April 25, 2025) - The Tufts University men's golf team finished round one of the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship in seventh place after an up and down Friday at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown.
JP Noone led the Jumbos on the first day of the three round competition. The sophomore's day began with a birdie on hole one, setting the tone for a fantastic front nine. Noone birdied holes six and seven to sit at -2 below par after nine holes. A birdie on hole 10 seemed to indicate more of the same on the back nine, but Noone ultimately fell back to two over par at day's end. He holds the number 12 spot individually.
Brendan Roy was next-best for the Jumbos, as he hit for four over par and 16th place. He also started his day with a birdie on hole one, and continued the momentum with birdies on holes four and 14. However, six bogies would see the sophomore drift back above par for +4.
Eric Lancellotti made it three Jumbos to birdie hole one, adding a pair more later on in the day with birdies on holes nine and 10. His finish to the back nine saw him bogie five of six holes to drive back above par. The senior finished round one in 28th place individually.
Reed Bodley earned the final scoring spot of round one for Tufts. The junior started the front nine with four bogies, but bounced back on the final stretch with birdies on holes 11 and 17 to salvage a score of eight over par. Bodley sits in 36th place in the individual scoring.

Holden Kittelberger finished round one just outside the scoring positions for Tufts. He finishes day one with a score of nine over par, highlighted by a birdie on hole eight.
The Jumbos will seek to improve their seventh place position as the NESCAC Championship continues tomorrow at 9:00 am.
