BLOOMFIELD, CT (April 6, 2024) - The Tufts University men's golf team improved to sixth place following a solid round two at the Bantams/Hawks Invitational at the Tumble Brook Country Club on Sunday.
Holden Kittelberger led the way once again for the Jumbos, playing a solid front nine to the tune of three birdies. A pair of birdies on the back nine kept the junior at one stroke above par come competition's end, landing him 10th place.Â
JP Noone was hot on his heels in 12th, but struggled a bit more on the front nine. It was another rollercoaster for the sophomore, as he tallied four bogies and two birdies in the first nine holes alone. One birdie on the back nine helped Noone to his four strokes over par finish for twelfth.
Reed Bodley saw great improvement on day two, highlighted by three birdies on the front nine. A tough double-bogey on hole 14 ultimately held him to three over par, but he improved to 27th individually.
Brendan Roy had the best score of any Jumbo on day two, finishing just a single stroke over par. Birdies on holes 8, 13 and 18 cancelled out three of the sophomore's four bogies, landing him 36th overall and earning him the final scoring spot for the Jumbos.
Tufts placed sixth overall with a combined score of 611. The Invitational winners, Amherst College, finished eight strokes in front of the competition with a 592.
Tufts will return to upstate New York for the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore College on Saturday, April 12.
