Men's Golf in Third Following Rounds One and Two of Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (September 20, 2025) - The Tufts University men's golf team took third place following an extended day one of the Williams Fall Invitational including 36 holes of golf at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown.

The first round started early in the morning at 8:00 am, and concluded with junior Nick McCabe at the front of the pack. A perfectly par front nine set the junior up well for the rest of the day. A birdie on hole 14 was followed by a bogey on hole 15 to see the junior stay even in round one. His round two saw him score three birdies in a row on holes three, four and five. A bogey to close out the front nine and a pair of double bogies saw him slide back to four over par after round two. McCabe currently sits seventh overall individually.

Junior Brendan Roy had a great day on the links as he finished three above par in round one. His first time through the course saw him tally five birdies, but three bogies and two double bogies saw him finish three over par. His second time around was a marked improvement as he kicked off the second round with an eagle on hole one. A birdie on hole seven and another for good measure on hole 10 saw him finish a stroke under par, lifting him into fifth place individually.

Junior JP Noone had a solid start to his day with a birdie on the first hole of round one, but five bogies down the stretch saw him finish five over par in the first round. The junior birdied hole one again in round two, and added another on hole two but drifted back up to four over par to sit in 22nd place going into round three.

Holden Kittelberger had a slow start to the day, finishing round one eight over par, highlighted by a birdie on hole 10. The senior turned it around in a big way for round two, hitting birdies on holes four, six, 10 and 14. Three bogies held him to just one stroke under par, but it was enough to have him sitting in 15th place going into round three.

Freshman Jason Zawtocki also competed for the Jumbos and sits 19 strokes over par after rounds one and two.

The Jumbos sit just seven strokes behind second place Williams College and 15 strokes behind first place Babson as they prepare for round three tomorrow at 9:00 am.
